FROM THE ATTIC

FOUND! OLD POSTCARD NEGATIVES FROM THE OELHAFEN ESTATE.


THESE NEGATIVES WERE RESCUED FROM AN AUCTION OF THE OELHAFEN ESTATE AND ARE BEING RESTORED BY LYNN SCHELLER.

I  AM DEEPLY INDEBTED FOR HIS PRESERVERANCE AND HARD WORK.

Angus Buie Tugboat

 

One of the two tug boats of the Tomahawk Land and Boom Company. It's sister vessel was the Ben Sweet. They were propelled by enclosed paddle wheels and had retractable smoke stacks for bridge clearance.

John Oelhafen Float 4th of July Early 1900s

The Oelhafen Store was constructed in 1887. The store to the left offered food and  household products and the store on the right offered dry good products. To the far right is the August Zastrow Saloon.

City Hall

The Tomahawk City hall encorporated the jail, library and fire station along with the city offices. it was built in 1900. This picture circa 1910.
